love does't forgive time.

Rain on a tin roof, hearing the sound of it resonate loudly as each drop pounds away at the unforgiving metal. This is how watching love that isn't yours be given freely to another. Your heart tears slowly, unforgivingly each time you see it, hear it. Each time you hear the words that are meant to comfort though you know its just filler to ease the void. Just empty noise to fill the unyielding gap of time that isn't closing. You want to make wishes on stars, but so many stars have fallen out of the sky that you just can't do it again because it is already hurting. Cinderellas shoe, I fear, will remain forever lost.

He says

I love you he says, but shh don't tell. I need you he says, but only for now. I think about you he says, but only when lonely. You're amazing he says, when his life isn't perfect. You're everything I ever wanted he says, until I realize I have it.

Love

Fairytales and happy endings, seems a far away land for a girl who stands in the corner all day. The girl who waits patiently to be remembered like the family dog who has been home alone all day. Kisses on foreheads and hugs from behind seem desperately far away and the thought of it being for someone else makes it most unbearable. All the girl wants is to be loved. Loved in a way that she will no longer ever question if its really for her. A love that isn't hidden, isn't sad. A love that beautiful and kind. A love that isn't perfect, but real. For perfection doesn't exist, it is merely the question of perfect for her. For the girl just needs to be wanted, to be needed in a way that remains true. Love isn't the end, it is the beginning. Love , says the girl, is the way home.

Here I am. Once again, dirty little secret. Waiting in the corner for my turn. Will it be today? Tomorrow? What is it that I have to do to make me special enough? What have I done to deserve to sit on the sidelines?

Amazing

Simple. Effortless. Frightening. Maddening, passionate. As it should be and more. A puzzle where pieces are waiting to be put together.

Can you hear it? It's called silence. Silence can be the loudest noise in the world. It can make you want to scream out loud. Silence is like a hurricane whipping through your soul before the windows of your mind were able to borded up.

Shooting stars

shooting stars. Who was the first person to wish on a wishing star? Did it come true as to start this world known trend? As children, we close our eyes tightly and think so hard about our wishes. New bike, Legos, candy, and friends. Our wishes track farther from whimsy and ever so closer to needs versus wants as we grow older.. Some of us still Close our eyes tightly, hoping that when we open them a softer, more poetic scene will play out. Some of us just look at the moonlight water, bathing in the beauty of nature, watching the star fall out of view reminding us how fragile all of life is. Hoping that the day ahead is less cruel then the one before.

Emotional Constipation

How do you let go? It is probably a question many of us ask on several occasions throughout our lives. How do we let go of a loved one who has passed on? How do we let go of someone that no longer wants to be a part of our lives? How do we let go of something that is no longer working for us but we have become dependent on it? How do you release those feelings when you have never been able to? You have had to be a rock for so many for so long you have no idea what it is like to release any feelings? Where do you start? Even thinking about it is like a rogue wave crashing down on top of you, sending you reeling onto the shore gasping for air. It is the one thing that makes you alone, your inability to stop being the rock, to stop and say enough. You don’t know how to release all the emotion, so you don’t stop. It isn’t that you just don’t know how to, you're petrified to.

Shaun Davey - The Parting Glass

As I prepare to say my final goodbye, I share part of my eulogy to my "wahty".  She would have said it best to all that loved her most " Goodnight and joy be to you all"

Mumford & Sons - I Will Wait (Official Audio)

Jack Johnson - Upside Down

You know you have done your job as a parent when your kids , at both 17 and 12.. Every time they hear this song, they immediately seek you out and hug you.  You know you have made a difference.

It takes Gumption.

Outside the box, it is a term that it is used so frequently and can mean so many different things. You can be thinking outside of the box, going above and beyond what normally is thought of for a situation and implementing that task, it can also be done with food, conversations, and friendships. The one thing most people do not do is LIVE OUTSIDE of the box. Living outside of that box that you have been put in, that has been built for you. The comfort of normal, the reality of what should be done and what is always supposed to be done. Living “outside” the box is where you find yourself, where you find your deepest laughter, your most powerful passion, your real thirst for life. You will always be in the box, but being able to live “outside” of it as well, now that takes gumption. Do you have gumption?

Rain

The rain is like tear drops, falling down your face as you let go of all the emotions you have held onto for so many years. It is like a warm blanket that you curl up into when you need comfort. Rain holds romance in it's rhythmic drip onto the roofs , sliding down down the pane of glass just coaxing you to touch it.Rain is love and hate, pain and joy. It is every emotion you can ever posses.

Jack Johnson- Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

When is the past the past?

We all have different memories of the past. Some of us choose to remember the lighter moments, some of us the darker. In the end, we all remember a portion or some variation of what the truth of the past represents. Later on in life, some of us come to a cross-roads where we are able to revisit that past, to pave a new path from that era and we have to find the courage to eithe subcomb to the desire of finding ourselves in it or putting it away on the shelf to be the "past" again. The past is a unexplainable curse that holds us to ourselves, even if we have tried to come to terms with it. The past is like a carving knife, it may not define who you are but it sure as hell starts the grooves for the shape you become. The past will find you, it will ask you the question " is the past really the past" on several occasions. It is up to you to decide if you , when making those decisions, did I do because I needed to, wanted to, should have, or do I leap into " the past still isn't the past".
